Evonne Moore

Vice Chair

Evonne Moore is a highly respected professional with thirty years in community relations. Mrs. Moore has experience in community outreach, mentoring, and extensive service in supporting educational achievement for adults and children of all ages. She has received numerous awards and recommendations for community services. These range from Merits Awards, Outstanding Achievement, Music, Community Engagement, and several other awards.

Mrs. Moore has been serving as Inkster Housing Commission Resident Council president for the last ten years, she manages to partner with various community organization Inkster, Michigan and the surrounding areas to help create Unity throughout the city.

As president of IHC Resident Council, residents look to her as a leader who provides guidance and a person with empathy that lends assistance whenever necessary. She always puts other before herself and is an entrusted advocate for residents and the community.

Mrs. Moore graduated from Wayne State University and Wayne State Center for High Technology majoring in education and teaching computer software, acquiring her teaching degree in Early Childhood education, teaching Elementary, and Special Education students. Attending both institutions prepared her to work with children of all ages and in community relations.

Mrs. Moore was appointed by the Mayor to the Inkster Housing Commission Board in 2020 for a term of five year in which she currently holds the position of vice-chair of the board. The mayor appointed her because of her love, commitment, engagement and dedication to the Inkster community.

Evonne Moore is a proud mother of three children, ten grandchildren and  four great grandchildren, with one on the way, that she anxiously awaits to meet. Her hobbies are baking, singing, and enjoying all the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
