Mable Stroman

Commissioner

Mable Stroman began her career path in education which stemmed from earning a degree from  HBCU Allen University, Columbia, SC (BS); Indiana State, Terre Haute and Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan (MS). With this stellar education her career started out as Elementary school teacher, teaching third grade. Stroman  received her  Master's Degree in Special Education specializing in Emotionally Impaired students. Later she received the 15+ MS (Marygrove University) specializing in Masters in the Art of teaching. After several years teaching third/fourth grade students, Mable started teaching special education at the elementary school.

Following this career path, she would  later on be  transferred to high school grades ninth through twelfth grade students teaching special education. As a  special education specialist /teacher consultant and teaching general mathematics (her minor in Undergrad). 

Stroman has  proudly served on the board of commissioners for several years (1997-2008) then again 2016 to present). Commission Stroman is very active with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Eta Iota Omega Chapter where she has had the honor to serve as president, graduate advisor, and many other officers - presently serving on board of the  of its’ 501c3 Service Builders Foundation. Mable also holds to her credentials as being the former president of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Michigan Metro Chapter and presently serving as treasurer. In additional Mable Stroman also serves on board of Directors of the Inkster Task Force.

Her sincere passion is SERVICE to her community and others. Aside from learning new skills such as calligraphy, arts and craft,  Ms. Stroman also enjoys reading and volunteering. Some describe Commissioner as a professional volunteer. Serving as a commissioner has broaden her knowledge about HUD and the housing industry with a passion to help residents improve their self-worth - being all they can be.
