Inkster Housing Commission Earns HUD “High Performer”
Inkster, MI – June 17, 2025 — The Inkster Housing Commission (IHC) is proud to announce it has achieved “High Performer” status in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) — a remarkable advancement from the agency’s Standard Performer designation just one year ago.
This prestigious recognition reflects IHC’s continued transformation and outstanding performance in the administration of the Housing Choice Voucher Program. It also underscores a powerful comeback for the agency, which in 2024 celebrated its first Standard Performer rating in nearly a decade after a rigorous turnaround effort.
“This leap from Standard to High Performer in just one year is a testament to our team's commitment to excellence and the strength of our collaboration with participants and community partners,” said Gladys Neal, executive director of the Inkster Housing Commission. “We are not only meeting the standard — we are now setting it.”
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awards High Performer status to public housing agencies that demonstrate superior performance across 14 critical indicators in the Section 8 Management Assessment Program (SEMAP). These indicators include accurate and timely rent calculations, ensuring compliance with Housing Quality Standards (HQS), proper use of the waiting list, and strong family self-sufficiency outcomes.
This milestone would not have been possible without the leadership and dedication of the HCV team: Nancy Sanford, HCV Director, Randi Robinson, HCV Manager and Danita Scott, HCV Specialist
“This team has worked day in and day out to ensure families in Inkster have access to safe, quality housing,” said Sanford. “This recognition reflects our mission in action.”
IHC remains committed to advancing housing opportunities and improving the lives of families throughout the community.
