About Inkster Housing Redevelopment Corporation (IHRC)
The Inkster Housing Redevelopment Corporation (IHRC) was established under federal and state statutes to operate and maintain public housing in Inkster, Michigan.
Our Purpose
As an instrumentality of the Inkster Housing Commission, IHRC exists to:
Operate as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
Acquire, construct, and redevelop affordable housing
Provide and develop resident and community supportive services to assist low-income families
Manage affordable housing properties
Receive donations and contributions that support these initiatives
IHRC is committed to building stronger communities by ensuring access to safe, affordable housing and supportive services for residents in Inkster.
What is Section 3?
Section 3 is part of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 and is regulated by 24 CFR 75. The goal of Section 3 is to ensure that jobs, training, and other economic opportunities created through certain HUD funding benefit low- and very low-income individuals—especially those receiving housing assistance—as well as businesses that hire or support them.
