Applying for Housing
Eligibility

Anyone who meets income limits set by HUD. We also review things like rental history and background.

Be ready to show:
Photo IDs for adults
Social Security cards
Birth certificates
Proof of income (pay stubs, SSI, etc.)
Other applicable documents
Rent & Payments

Rent is usually about 30% of your household’s income, based on HUD rules.

You can pay online through Rent Café, by mail, or in person at the office.

Call our Maintenance Hotline at 734-351-5410. Maintenance requests can also be submitted online through Rent Café. For emergencies after hours, call the same number and follow the prompts.

Yes, but with some rules. Pets need to be registered through IHC and the City of Inkster, and certain types and sizes may not be allowed.

All IHC residents and Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) participants are welcome to participate in IHC Resident Services programs.
